In depth
The Capita Defenders of Awesome has earned its reputation as one of the most beloved all-mountain snowboards for riders who want a single board that can handle everything a resort day throws at them. Built with a directional twin shape, this snowboard blends playful park capability with the stability needed for charging groomers and venturing into softer off-piste snow. Capita's construction philosophy shines through here, using a durable core paired with a resilient base and sidewalls designed to withstand the abuse of rails, jumps, and variable terrain without losing its lively pop or responsive flex. At the heart of the Defenders of Awesome is a medium-stiff flex pattern that strikes a balance between forgiving playfulness and confident edge hold at speed. The camber profile, often paired with rocker sections depending on the model year, gives riders quick edge-to-edge transitions while still providing the pop needed to launch off natural hits or park features. This snowboard rewards an aggressive, dynamic riding style, making it a favorite among intermediate to advanced riders who spend their day sampling every part of the mountain, from freshly groomed corduroy to the terrain park and side-hits along the trail. Visually, the Defenders of Awesome carries Capita's signature irreverent graphic style, often featuring bold, comic-inspired artwork that reflects the brand's playful, slightly rebellious personality. Beyond aesthetics, the board is respected within the snowboarding community for its versatility and durability season after season, making it a staple in Capita's lineup and a recurring recommendation for riders looking for a quiver-of-one board. Whether used for freestyle laps, all-mountain cruising, or occasional powder days, the Defenders of Awesome continues to deliver dependable performance that lives up to its bold name.
Customer reviews
I've had this board for two seasons of hard park riding and it just won't die. The camber gives great pop off jumps and the base has survived plenty of rail scrapes.
Rides groomers with confidence and handles small park features well. Only wish it floated a bit better in fresh snow.
The graphics still look fresh after a full season of abuse. Board holds an edge on icy mornings better than I expected.
For the price, this board punches above its weight. Not ideal for powder days, but for everything else it's a blast.
