In depth
The CCM Ribcor 90K skates are engineered for players who prioritize a responsive, energy-transferring stride without sacrificing the protective feel of a traditional boot. Built around CCM's signature Flex Zone technology, the boot is designed to bend naturally at the ankle, allowing skaters to load and release energy quickly through crossovers, tight turns, and explosive starts. The quarter package uses a blend of lightweight composite materials that keep the overall weight down while maintaining structural integrity where it matters most, giving players confidence when battling along the boards or absorbing contact. Underneath the sleek exterior, the Ribcor 90K features a anatomical fit designed to hug the foot and ankle, reducing dead space that can lead to blisters or lost energy during hard strides. The tapered heel lock and structured heel counter help lock the foot in place, translating power directly into the ice rather than losing it through boot flex or slippage. CCM has also incorporated moisture-wicking, quick-dry liners that help manage sweat buildup during long practices or games, keeping feet drier and more comfortable across extended use. The one-piece injected outsole adds rigidity and support to the chassis, working in tandem with the flexible upper to create a balanced ride that still feels quick and agile. Finished with a Speedblade XS holder system, the Ribcor 90K allows for tool-free blade removal and replacement, making mid-game or between-period adjustments fast and hassle-free for players and equipment managers alike. The stainless steel runner is designed to hold an edge longer, supporting consistent performance across extended ice time without frequent sharpening. Aimed at competitive youth, junior, and adult recreational players who want a lighter, more forgiving skate than the top-tier pro models, the Ribcor 90K strikes a practical balance between performance technology and everyday durability, making it a strong choice for skaters looking to upgrade their stride without stepping into elite-level pricing.
Customer reviews
Switched from a stiffer skate and immediately noticed how much quicker my first three strides felt. The forward flex is real and helps with explosive starts. Ankle support is solid too.
Comfort out of the box was great, minimal hot spots. However I have wider feet and still had to get them punched out slightly despite the 'wide' fit designation. Performance-wise, very happy.
Coming from beer league hockey, these were a nice upgrade. The flex helps with quickness but I did notice the steel needs sharpening more often than my old Bauers. Overall solid value.
As a forward who relies on quick bursts, this skate's flex profile is exactly what I needed. Ankle wrap keeps things stable even during hard stops. Highly recommend for similar skaters.
They're fine skates but I could tell the difference compared to the Ribcor Trigger series I demoed. Less lateral stiffness meant slightly less confidence on hard turns. Good for the price though.
